Representative Sami Gemayel indicated in a speech from Bkerke that there is a Lebanese rally around the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister on the path to restoring sovereignty and decision-making in Lebanon, stressing that this path will not stop. He said, "Hezbollah is behind the campaign against the patriarch and the presidents and is part of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard," describing the campaign as "Iranian." He added that he was waiting for a position from the Shiite opposition to express its refusal to place the sect in the face of the rest of the Lebanese, questioning the continued “mortgage of Lebanon for the benefit of Iran.” He also expressed his hope that the "uprising" within the Shiite community would extend toward Hezbollah's performance, allowing the building of a state with true partnership. He concluded by saying that the Lebanese Republic cannot coexist with this doctrine, calling for confronting it through national unity.
